USTA Junior Team Tennis

Westport Tennis Club (WTC) runs several junior tennis teams for players that have acquired experience or are ready to play matches. USTA Team is a national team tennis program that is coordinated across the country. The program serves to give prospective tournament players a platform to start competing or give club players the ability to play on a travel team or qualify for a regional or district tournament. We are one of the few teams in the area that offers a team practice! All practices are run by our professional staff. If you are new to the Program, you must be evaluated by a coach or program director.

Based on the number of players, we currently offer:

10 and Under Teams-Intermediate & Advanced

12 and Under Teams-Intermediate & Advanced

14 and Under Teams-Intermediate & Advanced

16 and Under or 18 and Under Teams

The Winter cost is $440 (for paid Clinic participants at WTC)  The cost covers 8 home and away matches including 4 practices. All our home matches are Saturdays and most practices are also on Saturday when there is no match. The Winter season starts after Thanksgiving and ends mid April (4 Practice and 8 Matches). Starts December 7th. Sign up for the Program is due before the match schedule is published.

Practices and Matches

The program holds practices on Saturdays. Home matches are held Saturdays and we skip practice if we have a home match or away match within the time we would offer practice. Practice is 1.5 hours and the matches typically last 2 hours.

March 18

At Westport Tennis Club our highest priority is to ensure the health and safety of our tennis players, staff and our community.  As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our area, we will be closed.

We know that social distancing helps to slow the spread of COVID-19 and we must do our part in line with the State of CT’s directives.  As of now, our tennis program is closed until further notice.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will take appropriate action as circumstances change.

Our hearts and our thoughts go out to everyone affected by this virus. We hope we can return to normal soon, but in the meantime please try to stay safe and healthy.
